Kept itching to take the beast to work, (schools out = Less traffic)... Someone bumped the car in the parking, I was in a rush to get out the office i only noticed it went i came home..
What are my options, Insurance? suck it up and fix it elsewhere? (bumper does have a crack now)
I want to see the camera footage even tho the there's the sign 'park at own risk' any they not liable for damages blah blah in the company parking.

Just because school is out doesn't mean the roads are safer, I find the opposite as there are more idiots and lunatics on the roads in December time...
You pay for insurance so use it, but get the car repaired by an ARC.

Ohhh heck, I had a similar on the rear bumper when I used mine to the office for the first time...

I would say check the camera footage, and get the sod, they must be insured as well...

people don't respect other people's property... That's the bottom line. And law of this world will always have it happening to your nice car

My thoughts are, nw that you have taken pics - get yourself some good old polish, and I am pretty sure - most of the "paint" will be removed.

If it leaves any blemishes or something you cant live with - then get it painted.

Polishing it out, is way less head aches than sending it in for repairs, as it doesnt looked to have damaged too much, but rather the paints ego.

PS: My bad - I only say the crack in the bumper on the second pass.

it always amazes me how ppl can crash into the largest obstacle.....

fix yourself

its probably less than your excess unless your excess is 200 bucks

Get some 1500 and 2000 grit paper. Mix some dish detergent and place the grit paper to soak.

Gently sand out the scratch in one direction. Apply some P1 available at a paint shop and buff using a polisher.

I wet sanded a scratch on my car recently. From what it shows in your pic, the paint is not damaged - the other car's paint left a mark on yours. Wet sanding a layer off will sort it out.

Apply a polish/wax after and your are sorted!

Hope this is acceptable my fellow members who have experience with wet sanding/cutting and polishing/waxing and protecting.

Hope to get some professional advice on this from guys who are in this business!

Cheers!

I think wet sanding is too harsh since the other cars paint is on top , by wet sanding you are going to thin the paint around the scratch significantly more than where the extra paint is.

I would start least aggressive first, my cars paint is normally waxed and i have been able to remove paint splatter by claying and using a fine compound polish.

I would get a quote from an ARC anyway.

Im a qualified spraypainter, using a 2000 wet/dry sand paper wont remove any layer of clearcoat on your car, its basically used to remove slight scuff marks or on freshly painted cars its used to remove dust before polishing. Just dont sand for hours trying to get the marks out because u will then sand through the clear, u should be able to sand it very lightly and the mark will come out and then use a Polish to shine up the dullness. Hope that helps abit [THUMBS UP SIGN]

You would most likely get most of the scuff marks out, from what I can see in the pics u posted a small touchup would be needed on the bumper, and the beading looks like it needs to be clipped in, privided that there is no dent on the bumper. Try polishing the scuff marks out, push the beading back in and see how it looks, if the marks that are left still bother you then take it in to be repaired

This happened to me a few years ago. Parked at the mall, came out, found my car bumped. Bumper popped in and back out, causing the paint to crack. I had to have the bumper fixed and repainted.

No note left. People just don't have skin anymore to at least take accountability and at the very least apologize.

if the footage shows the number plate you can open a case of hit and run against the person. then if you have a friend in the police they can give you the person details then you can contact them personally or go through insurance and let them take the person on.

well that's what i would do
