Smoking E46

Hi there

I drive a BMW E46 325i and my car smokes intermittently on startup and sometimes when i pull away after driving the car a bit. As said, its not always a regular thing when starting up but it smokes a bit after driving it.

There is also an oil leak, even though the car just came from a major service recently.

Any advice?

Inspect where the oil leak is coming from and replace gasket

stop turning the DSC off on take off.... it generally helps as well...

From previous experience although not on a BMW if it does it on start up after standing for some time and also when driving its fine until you idle at a stop or traffic light and pull away with a puff it could be valve stem seals that are perishing and letting oil seep through.

Agreed, sounds like Valve Stem seals.

Sounds like the oil breather pipe is blocked
