smash and grab....is there an effective product ?

so an "ex"-colleague of mine just posted this on facebook

Brand new BMW smash and grab on your windows. Absolutely f@##%g useless

is there a product on the market that is more effective than what happened here, or are we living on "cloud-cookoo-land" when we have Smash-&-Grab fitted....false sense of security.

well I suppose it doesnt say smash the whole window and grab. I think it is more a deterrent than anything as it makes it more difficult to smash the window and grab. that looks like more than just smash and grab. there was a lot of force.

Point of impact looks like a hard round object size of a cricket ballish.


I also suppose we get this and then leave stuff on the seat thinking we are safe.

I found the most effective smash and grab is having nothing to grab.

Yes - it comes in a 9mm, .40, .45 and depending on security level, a .50 as well.

I doubt anything will work efficiently. If it doesnt tie back to the bracket that the window is secured to - chances are, it will land up on your floor, as in your picture.

How is smash and grab installed?

Are the windows removed then the film applied?
or is it applied while the window is still intact in its' place?

it gets installed when they replace your window

but most places install it while the window is on already.

Smash and Grab is a deterrent so that the glass dont shatter on first impact as well - but if a crook wants something - he is gonna take it

question is that by a robot or while the car was standing somewhere?
smash a grab doesnt mean it wont break

just a heads up.....this happened in Coisman's territory

from my friends FB page

it was R21 at the Fountain circle robot at 19;30 with 8 cars all around

Don't Feel too bad - when they broke in with my SMASH and Grab - i got two layers of filament on - inside window and outside window





they used a spade to break my window - see evidence on floor LOL



AND even with that distinct Fingerprint they told me that they could not catch the guy





So the Smash and grab only helps but dont prevent :argh::argh:
