Stripped the front cross member of the car as it is kinked where the lower control arm sits.
I needed some more cleaning work so I stripped the steering box and pipes and gave them a good clean and a fresh coat of black Hammerite.

I placed the thrust arm in its position to verify the placement of a washer which is against the bush.

Here is a pic of all the old front suspension components which are being junked.
If anyone has use of e28 front calipers and discs with new pads give me a shout and I shall speak to Rick, even better pm Rick.

This is the replacement cross member from an e28 535.

All new parts with the bushes pressed out and polly bushes fitted.

Front almost ready.
Waiting for anti roll bar to come back from powder coating as well as the M5 front calipers which are being ceramic coated along with the rears.

For those wondering I have cut the brake backing plates off as the new discs are very large and extend beyond the backing plate.
The small piece that I have left behind is so as to protect the ABS sensor

Installed new fuel tank as the one in the car had a leak at 75% fill.

Old tank.

Brake calipers were ceramic coated and rebuilt.
Right hand caliper

Saw this in the flesh today... wow... what a transformation. Saw the car when it first came in and man, the English sea side really wrecks havoc on the underside metal pieces.

You guys have no idea how much work Peter has put into this car. It really is a full restoration and the front suspension is looking great.

Well done Peter... !!! Bringing you my entire rear axle so we can do the same.. oh wait, I already have...

The front suspension is now complete with the addition of a silver (to match the rear) anti roll bar /sway bar/
Still need to bleed brakes but will hold untill I do the rear suspension overhaul.

FOLGAR wheels imported at a considerable cost.
Love the way the brakes fill the rim.

So Nita is out my driveway and I have dived into the shark which I had just completed with new sound and suspension.

Rick drove it to Durban and on his return decided that he would have the car rebuilt.
So........

The roof lining will be replaced with a leather one from a Highline 6er which arrived from England some 5/6 days ago at a cost of some R9k

Car is on its way to the panel beaters for a touch up or two.

There are also some rear suspension components on their way and when the car gets back from the panel shop we shall install the new rear suspension with all the performance goodies

That looks like so much fun

This car will easily be one of the best examples on the African continent when completed.
