Give them a shout and see what they can do for you. and if they cannot help you can always ask them who is their retailers.

I phoned Monroe a week ago, they only supply retailers and apparently these shocks are on special order..... in other words it will take 6 - 12 weeks to deliver

Did they not advise you on who their retailers are?

They gave me a list of retailers in Mpumalanga & Gauteng like Supa Quik, Autozone, etc etc.... Phoned those places but none of them keep shortened shocks let alone Monroe's

Thats what happened to my car..... previous owner fitted standard Gabriel shocks all round before dropping the car, now all 4 bottomed out and are shot

I got Bilstein springs but not sure of the mm. Theres less then an index finger space between the front tyre and fender (I got small fingers compared to Coismans thick sausages) its the same story with the rear

It would be interesting if you can find out how (in terms of mm) much the car has been dropped. I have heard that if its less than 32mm you don't need shorter shocks, so if your car has been dropped say 28mm then that story goes out the window..

Hey Dooms,

Did you ever come right with this? I've also got an E36 and I think its about as low as yours.

I was just going to fit normal shocks until I saw this thread.

Mine is 40mm drop all round.

Sorry for replying so late bud.... my car also got 40mm bilstein springs all round. Well I placed an order in December for Monroe reflex shocks for front & rear, it's the ones recommended for the e36 Individual although I'm not so sure how much lower the individual is compared to the standard e36. I should be getting my stuff in Feb.

moroe is useless, have also tried to get hold of shortened shock for the e46 as listed on their co.za website, only to find that they dont actually stock them.. not their warehouse or agents.

Thats true, they told me waiting period is between 6 - 12 weeks :thumbdo: however the Kwik-Fit in Johannesburg keep these type of shocks for 3 Series BMW's with the sport suspension setup.

Speak to Andrew at Supa Kwik Kyalami (Midrand), he drives an E46 M3 and he has a way of making things happen. He may be able to sort you out.
