Hi guys,
Service is due on my E90 320D and I bought parts needed for the service. Check out the prices and let me know
Air filter ~ R274.25
Set Oil Filter element ~ R131.20
Oil Seperator ~ R313.38
Fuel Filter cartridge ~ R337.60

All prices excl vat

Still need to get the oil and brake fluid

My question is, are these reasonable prices or not?:dunno:

They are definitely reasonable. I can see by the price of Air filter that u got them from the stealer.

Ross Duncan in Midrand did the service and he charged R200 for the oil (5.5liters) and R400 labour
Micro filter was changed 5 000kms prior when car was still on motorplan so was told no need to replace again

What is the best oil to use for the Diesels?

Are those the main components required for a service on a 320d?

Nope there are more stuff that also need changing on diesels, not sure about all the stuff, but I sure the diesel guy could fill you in.

Was it 5W40?

I got 5 liter once for R200, but that was because they incorrectly priced it. The price should be in the R400.

The usual price for 5W40 fully synthetic oil is something like R360 for castrol and R290 for shell (this is for 5l), unless this guy get the oil really cheap (surprising) and shares that price with you (really surprising)
