So..I've bit the bullet and decided to put a deposit down on an Oxford Green/Barbados green (?) 840ci. I've always been a huge fan of the crisp lines of the E31 and it still is - for me, the best looking BMW ever made.
The car is in the UK and the selling price is 4,500 pounds with 123,000 miles on the clock. It's a '97 so it's fitted with the updated M62 4.4l engine which we've grown fond of. I do expect high running costs, which is why im planning on selling my 328i and bring in a reasonable E36 318is (open to suggestion) from South Africa to use everyday - fingers crossed that I'll find a good one.
Our import tax ranges from 50-80% depending on engine size, model type and model year.
The car is due to leave on the 26th of October - if all goes well. Will arrive in Namibia (Walvis Bay) after 2 weeks
I think I've got a good deal, even though it's risky running a high-miler, i don't intend on using it everyday anyway....I plan on babying this thing - garaged, covered and detailed every two weeks :fencelook:
