seeking voltage regulator (LOCATED)

Hi all

So this past week I've been getting the dreaded red battery error light on my e90 325i 2007. I think my baby final gave in and left me stranded lucky right out side my house.

I'm in need of some help locating a voltage regulator or a good auto electrician some where in CPT. Could someone please point me in the right direction in locating any of the above. The quotes I've received are ridiculous and to be frank hell no to R3000 for a refurb alternator.

I have tested the batteries and the voltage on the 645 is running at a constant 11.9 , however when installing the Willard 652 im getting a jumpie 13.9 - 14.02.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

So you already fitted a new battery? When off a good battery should put out around 12.5V and with the car on it should be around 13.5V to 14V.

Btw, changing a voltage regulator is a diy job. The part is available from BMW but also try that Cape Auto electrical next to Suburban in Salt River/Maitland or that big shop in Brackenfell. I can't remember the name now.

The Willard 652 was taken from my dads car, not new. called around earlier everyone's on leave or not taking any bookings until Monday :skit: however the lovely husky voice lady at brilliant mechanical workshop :ty: pointed me to the guys that does their clients alternator/ electrical problems.

I know its a DIY job (I've seen Funky Toyz post on the DIY), I would love to tackle it and detail the engine bay while I'm at it. Only if I'm able to locate the part, btw its the Bosch alternator.

Will call around to the places mention above, Thanks bro appreciate it

Just remembered the name of the place in Brackenfell. It's called Tygerberg Auto Electrical. They will completely recon your alternator while you wait.
