Looks like that cylinder head we wanted is gone. Owner doesn't answer calls or responds. All other engines we have found are somewhat suspect. It would be great to do the engine rebuild route, but I have phoned pretty much every scrap yard and engine seller out there, no one is willing to part with their cylinder head. Looks like we have no choice but to buy a complete engine.

I have decided to contact IPC/ Bavarianauto (advertiser on the forum) and they have a few engines available. All fully intact and ready to be installed.

Price is R6300 excl Vat.

We currently do not have that full amount yet. We have had some really generous donations, but we could still use a bit more help.

This eliminates the need to do engineering, which would cost R4000+-.

In the end, I am sure this route will be faster and cheaper (not a compromise).

So... if anymore donations can be made guys, even R50, R100. It all helps.

Peter, guy who had the head has disappeared. Cannot get hold of him and every single place that is stripping an e36 318i refuses to part the engine.

Looks like we may have to buy an entire engine.

As far as I know, there is no front bumper.

The front bumper is still intact all well. We need the trim plate above the bumper where the kidneys sit and the lights bolt onto.

Okay.....I'm good for either a new m3 bumper with beadings, lip and mesh.....or a financial contribution.....what ever you guys feel is more in need.

I will let Bruce decide on that...

It's going to be a tough decision as the M3 bumper with beading, lip and mesh is really awesome looking, but the car needs an engine, so finance is also equally needed. Think Hard bruce. Don't jump at any decisions just yet.

I must say Firoze this isnt one of the easiest choices.

As Chris says the M3 bumper looks awesome but yes we need the finance more at this moment.

Seeing as I currently have a bumper I think we should go with the financial contribution Firoze.
