Hi All,

I've owned this stunning 525e now for only 2 months and started realising how the car gets stares and thumbs up nods from strangers in traffic.

I've done some small work (minor details) to get her looking the way i want.
Mission is just to keep it neat.

Also looking for a place in the country that stocks things like stock suspension springs, an odometer cluster unit, a fog lamp switch and other small stuff. Hope anyone can help cos I been calling around SA with no result.

Never thought I'd own one of these but they damn nice rides.

Have you tried MD House in Wynburg (JHB) for parts? They're a major BMW parts dealer with both new and secondhand parts for the entire range, pretty much.

They might be able to source a few parts for you. They're near Paarl and are always busy with projects and restorations on older beemers like this one

Things I've done thus far:
• Yellow Laminex on spotlights
• Full Maguiars valet inside and out (+ engine bay)
• Replaced steering with 3-spoke from an e30 and had it covered in leather
• BIGGEST SIN: lowered the ride height by... Cütt!ng! :RedNo:
• Alarm system added to the exsisting central lock system
• Refurbing a set of 17" BBS RKII's to pearl silver


About to happen:
• Replace rubber pads on top and bottoms of springs
• Fit MB Quart sound system run with an Alpine 5 channel amp and Pioneer DVD head unit
• Replace fog light switches

Its an olde Pioneer cassette deck – aint no body got time fo dat.
There are some parts that I need modernised... car audio is def one of them.

Saw a set of throwing stars for R8k!
Over my budget... refurb of those rims and you looking at R13000 for rims alone.
