just a quick q when was the last time she went in for a service? lol that must be the most stupid question ever its like when you don't know what wrong with your computer and you just reboot it, service = reboottry that maybe she just needs some under bonnet loving.

For a few months it's been idling very badly. It has power when I accelerate and when driving is fine but when idling it drops to about 500rpm and shakes and shudders. It's like there is an anti-stall type thing that kicks in and if that wasn't there the car would die. If I switch on the aircon it helps it run smoother but not perfectly.
The problem is intermittent though. It will be fine for a few days and then do this and then fine for a few days again. Sometimes if it starts playing up I switch off the car and start it again and it goes away.
A trend I think I've spotted is that it seems to happen when the fuel tank is less than 1/4 left. I had a thought that maybe the fuel supply wasn't great when the tank is low or there is a dirty spark-plug that's effected by low amount of fuel in the tank (not sure if that's even possible).
