As per my F30 wanted thread, I was on the hunt for a LCI model, but simply couldn't pass by on this gem of a F30 that I had found.
I figured I can always Retrofit LCI tail lights when a set became available, which happened to be in the first month of ownership
@Salt was kind enough to sell me his OEM set of LCI tail lights, which I had then dropped off for a polish and STEK Dynoshade at Detail Xcellence.
For those that may not know, STEK is a PPF and the "dyno" line of wraps are made specifically for lights. I felt that the OEM LCI Tail lights were a little too red for my liking, and I was after the look of the OEM F30 shadowline tail lights which are more of a cherry red. I opted for Dynoshade which is the lightest tint on offer.
Advantages of using STEK Dynoshade, the film is translucent and doesnt reduce light output while offering clarity (the film does not look wavy like laminX), it is self healing and has hydrophobic properties.
Please dont ask for dyno results now

Sourced the OEM Lci Tail light retrofit harness from ABM and installation was relatively straight forward (see diy thread here)

@Kyle assisted with coding the retrofit using Bimmercode, which was done in a few seconds without any fuss...Also coded the B&O DSP while we were at it (will test this out over the next few weeks and see if its any better than the stock HK settings)

And the end result, exactly what I was after, the LCI tail lights makes a massive difference to the rear end (which is important on the 330d ) and I'm quite pleased with how it looks with the Dynoshade as well ...Officially a Lci Pre-Lci F30😁

Looks damn gorgeous, and that shade of 'tint' is absolutely exactly what I wanted on mine but I got teh darker shade because no one else had the lighter shade. I'll see if anyone else has STEK around in Jhb (Please dm if you do know bru, i want to get mine done). Thanks man, Yeah so STEK is not available to the public, I suggest dropping a message on their website and check who the retailers (usually detailing or wrapping shops) are in JHB

Month two of ownership, nothing much to report...She has been mostly parked away with everything thats been going on in KZN over the last few weeks...
I finally managed to get darker smash and grab (went with 20%) fitted over the weekend, significant difference to the overall appearance of the car.
before - there was some smash and grab, however quite subtle (maybe 50%?)
In progress - just the front passenger window is done at this point
After ...looks quite slick now, yet to drive at night to check if the visibility is still okay, but considering that I have 15% on the e90 (which is manageable), this should be perfectly fine
Nothing else to report 🚜
