It has been a while since I posted any updates here...and I suppose now is a good time to do an end of 2021 update post 😁
Not much has been going on with the 330d to be honest...WFH was still a thing till around October ...so the 330d spent most of its days parked off and pretty much became a weekend car.
After being called back to the office, I immediately found out that a 9km highway drive to the office had only moved the heat gauge to 1/4 (50 degs) ...so each commute included some pointless driving around the area so that the car could complete a full heat cycle.
Miles still remained relatively low, just ticked over 67k kms.
So over the last couple months, not much maintenance has been needed, other than the yearly oil service.
In terms of Mods...I have started a nice collection

, haven't had a chance to fit most of them though
1. Carbon Fiber Front splitter
2. OEM M-Performance Trims
The quality and detail of the trims is really something - really need to get them into the car at some point
3. OEM Style 788m Wheels with Pilot Super Sport Tyres (M2 comp spec - 245/40/19 front and 265/40/19 rear)
Was never a fan of the 403m wheels, as a design, it suited the f30, but the fitment was not to my liking. I have been on the look out for OEM wheels for a while, had my eyes set on the 588m wheels found on the F34 or 473m wheels, the 588m is impossible to find and F34 owners did not want to part ways with the rims and the 437m seems to be very popular on F30s. I have not seen another local F30 with the 788m wheels, so when the opportunity to grab a brand new set presented itself it was an expensive no brainer 😀
Applied some AutoFinesse Mint Wheel Wax - the finish on these wheels are stunning 😍 - can never go wrong with OEM.
4. F80 Steering Wheel
My F80 wheel was delivered this morning, and its in near perfect condition (Pic is before a clean as well) to be added to my collection of parts till I can source some Dry Carbon paddles (to match the Mperf trims) or OEM M paddles.
Overall, things are taking shape ...not sure what 2022 has in store, as I started a new job that is even closer to home (3kms), fortunately its just once or twice per week...so not a big inconvenience to drive around the area till the heat cycle is reached.
In terms of maintenance, there isn't much, a ZF service will be on the cards around 80k kms when ever that may be, and just the annual oil services.
And for the mods - definitely a carbon fiber rear diffuser! and potentially some low, will see what happens.
Due to the bi polar weather in Durban over the festive break, I did not manage to get some proper pics of the car after fitting the 788m wheels, will just post what I have for now...and will follow up in the next few weeks once I get my Front splitter installed.
