looks like I have found a donor, that was re-ended, will cut weld and grind, as I will be spraying the interior as well, and putting a new parcel shelf in so might as well do it properly.

managed to get, interior black trim......and GOOD condition black carpet....centre console box....and a few smaller bits and pieces...also the sound board thats behind the back seat in mint condition....

Hi Adi,

I only saw this thread this evening. I looked at it from the beginning. You have quite a project at hand, but looking at your progress so far, you are doing a good job.

Good luck! I am following this resto with great interest!

Adi dont laugh.....I took the board out of the boot thats behind the back seat , cleaned it and as there was pilling ( the appearance of small balls of wool or fibre ) on the surface I decided to get rid of the pilling . I used a disposable razor and lightly went over the surface , I was suprised at the result :thumbs: .

Hmmm yes sometimes things can be saved......my parcelshelf was not one of those.....neither was the sound material underneath, or the part on the seat.....

big thanx to Rick540 for a quick scrap trip......that yielded the radio wires, and a few other very handy bits and pieces, will post some pics

ok, sound material for the back of the seat, stripped at the yard (Ant thanx for your help) cleaned, fixed, sprayed, and now ready when car is back to install

ok, now the bumper at the back is removed. Car had a towbar fitted with the necessary brackets. That bracket is easily 20-25kg........question the car will never ever tow anything ever again, but keep the bracket for weight at the back? or turf it?

some extra weight at the back? but 100% sure this M5 will never pull a trailer again....

Carpets are ready........cleaned, and ready to be installed:

Why do you want extra weight?
These dinosaurs have too much of that already. Mine tipped the scales @ 1710kg the other day.

While stripping the other car, came accross some stunning parts that I have not seen before, a plastic cover that lies around the number plate lights:
