and with one rubber mat installed

The side panels are proving a bit of a challenge, or at least one side is, somebody used a really good glue.

Tried everything, now its down to scraping!

Hi Adi,

It has been quite a while that you've been busy with this project, but it is really looking fantastic!

It was wonderful to go through this thread and see the progress made. Well done! I'll definitely check in more often to see your progress.

I used a sander. 40 grit. Worked well. That job is a PITA though. Goodluck

Ok, after a break posting here some news. Busy putting the side skirts on, the boot looks nice, hoping to progress to the front of the car soon.

The one think I need is the one silencer, mine is rusted

The boots with spare in already

Ok, now I am stumped. Started on the engine bay.

Where the bonnet locks in, close to the windscreen, there is a micro switch. This switch detects if the bonnet is open or not.

Only problem, my switch was cut off. I have the switch, where do the cables go? Anybody know?

Such an awesome and inspiring thread... alot of work here. Question - was the paint / body work up to your standards from Autobody Solutions? Im looking for a panel shop to take my E36 to.

Reece from Autobody Solutions did a awesome job. The two back doors had rust at the bottom of the door, and there was rust in the boot.
I was lucky that I had a e34 M5 she'll go cut metal from. He gives the boot, and instead of replacing the doors, and loosing the right door color on the inside. He cut the bottom parts of the donor for, welded on and worked off. Car looks awesome.
