Just a question on everyone’s opinion. Does the M535i e12 fall into the same class as the 333i? As the m535i was the first official M car built (in SA and if I’m not mistaken the World)

Oh. You're back. Pray tell what magical tales you have for us this month

Haha how to make your 330i as fast as a m3 e46 around a track. Read my 330i Road and track post:=):

sure. more imaginary bullshit

If you say so.

Just like your imaginary E36 M3 right?

He should'nt be crucified for wanting a more feasable option. He did'nt start this thread to ask permission if he can change the engine.

would you feel the same way if it was a 325is being butchered?

i would like him to keep it original, but it seems he cant so why not have some fun. If he were changing the body work that would be a sin, but im thinking of it as an upgrade. If my 325is engine blew i would put in a mutivalve engine in a heart beat, but keep the original classic look. Classic meets new technology. There are many trains of thought be open mined:=):

That's where we disagree. These cars are valuable ONLY if they are 100% original, and a dedicated enthusiast will keep them that way. There are plenty other vanilla models out there to fiddle and fart with, but consider the heritage and rarity of these vehicles, the likes of which we will NEVER see again.

They valuable either way, just more valuble in 100% original i agree. However if you knew how much a 325iS with M3 engine sell for, it would flip your would upside down.

When you guys say the 333i was more free revving, do you mean Higher rpm limit or quicker response, cuz i have seen a e34 535i original motorsport with recarro seats lsd and 3spoke BMW wheels and manual tranny (was chipped though) and that thing was a screamer had the rpm limiter removed and picked up effing quick. As for originality it’s like the 1971 split grill challenger 426ci hemi with pistol grip and shaker hood. You keep it as original as possible but then again parts for that engine has to be hard to come by, is a motor with other brand internals (e.g. wiseco pistons or other for rebuild purposes) really as original as say a different yet cosmetically identical BMW motor.

Putting in a new engine because original parts are not feasible is fine. Nothing wrong with given and old car new life when it's not feasible to restore.

Pulling a perfectly good IS or 333i apart because you want more power/speed is not fine. You can get the same performance from a normal 2 door E30 and still have it look like an IS or 333 WITHOUT ruining an original one.

See the link below to see what's happening to good original IS's and 333's a like:
http://www.e30clubsa.co.za/forum/in...s-to-what-is-325is/page__p__38762&#entry38762

This why we push for members to keep their IS's and 333's original if they can.

The previous owner is Rowen on the forum and regrets ever selling his pretty much perfect IS to the guy who did that to the car. He did get himself another clean IS which you can see here:

At least we know this IS will be looked after like it should be :thumb:

That poor IS :cry::cry::cry:

Actually, I can't remember the last time i saw a clean trip 3 on the road. The last one i saw must have been at least 10 years ago, it was lying in someone's yard because a backyard 'specialist' had the brilliant idea of fitting an aftermarket cam that ended up ruining the head. Last i heard the owner stripped and sold it for spares.

The E12/8 M535 certainly does as does the Lightweight E12 530.
As to the rest they were built in large numbers and there are still many clean examples in sufficient numbers.
