Replacing motor mounts on a 2016 BMW i3 Rex

Have done the swop this morning. BMW quoted R13k to do the job. We did it in less than two hours with very little sweat! Apparently, they have to remove the motor?? to do the job. We took off the back wheels, unbolted the mounting (one bolt each), knocked/levered them out and put the new mounts in. Had to suspend the motor with a trolley jack but that is about it. Reason for replacing the mounts is that the car when pulling away would sort of hesitate/loose traction (best way to describe it is it feels as if one was driving over a pipe which caused the wheels to loose traction for a moment). Parts is about R7,5k. The left hand mounting rubber was nearly completely torn off and the other side was slightly torn.

well done, i would still cry though at 7.5k for two motor mounts, prices are just getting ridiculous.

I guess thats the only way to keep selling new cars....make parts for 2nd hand cars so unaffordable that it makes a new car more attractive lol
