Hi Guys

Can these boxes be replaced with something that sounds more like a BMW 3.0l straight six? what and will the motorplan be void?

ACS has a rear silencer section that can be fitted. Motorplan will still be in place. Not sure how much of a difference it will make to the sound, but that will be the only "no risk" option.

Start with Hamann...you will not be dissapointed.

I am running a complete catback BMW performance exhaust system (from BMW) with resonator removed (its part of the system)...but the system is very expensive but totally rewarding...

As far as I know no one, but you can get Hamann in Cape Town... :) Motorplan also won't be a problem.

Please tell me more about motorplan not being a problem, as I wanted to fit the Hamann exhaust, and was told it voids anything connected to the exhaust system.. and they can deny claims that they think are related... emphasis on think.

Have you come to some agreement with BMWSA?
And do you have anything in writing... the only option for me is to fit hamann, as it's the only system with quad 76mm pipes.

ok, keep us posted.
I would like to see it approved by bmwsa, like acs.

Dealer agreements arent good when bmwsa pops in for surprise visits.

How much did the xhaust cost you and which BMW did it for you?

Why so expensive? (Do you at least get a refund for the old exhaust?)

refund? hehe.. Nope
And i have no idea why the boxes r so xpensive

Read an article in bmw magazine, where they tested the performance xhaust on a 135, and got no gains.. Or nothing worth noting.

So its an xpensive sound i suppose.

I can supply the BMW Performance one as well if requested, and quite a bit below the dealer price.....

What prices? And will it be covered by mplan since you are supplying?

now why or why would you want to do that ?

just decat the 335i and software.

on my E92 335i , software alone , i ran a 13.3sec 400m , dont see rear silencers giving you much more performance , unless you after a tone ?

Agree, aftermarket rear silencers will not give huge gains.

I wrote a review on the bmw performace exhaust on my 335 sedan somewhere on this forum. I got a spike in power, sound AND this is important for me...the car just breathes better...car does'nt sound strained under load like with the stock exhaust. The stock sound is also way too tamed. On a turbo car you want to reduce backpressure as far as possible...and the rear mufflers is a good place to start. Removing the primary cats with catless ones is of course a far better option to reduce backpressure and unleash the real power from an exhaust and it comes with great sound as well. My strategy is to start modding the exhaust from the back working forward.

another two cents worth of mine , for some odd reason , on all my cars including the Ms , i have noticed that changing the center of the exhaust system is a must whislt keeping the stock original rears in place , seems to give the best performance , coupled with a nice induction.

on my E36 M for eg. , just to give you a indication , i had on a RGM exhaust system worth 10k or something , on the rollers it made the power , some odd 173kw ATW , but on the road it was a dud , i changed back to the above system as described in the begging of this thread and the car is running mad , and i have tested against other Ms ,on the road, supporting some very good mods , believe it or not , just the center exhaust change on the M and it is in front of the modded Ms

but ja different strokes for different folks.
