Real world Diesel Consumption

Hi guys, would like to get some real world consumption figures from tractor owners and compare them to the manufacturers claims.

Been looking at some E90 320d 135kw stats and they claim around 5.3l/100km? Anyone getting close to this?

Thanks

I do about 100 kilometers a day in a e90 320d and get about 6.5 - 7l/100 and thats with alot of stop go,very little open road.Taking it really easy i have squeezed it down to 6l/100 a few times.

Cool, so i'm assuming diesel shines more on open road than stop/go traffic?

I travel 3km's to work and no traffic, so thats more or less open road, the most I have seen my car climb to was 8 but that was really hard driving.

I also got in town driving 5.5- 5.7/100km
And if i drive like a maniac 6.2.

Drove last Friday to BFN and Back with 1 Tank at a speed of 130Km/h Cruise Control
Open roads is far better. 20.1km/l This however is with the E90 320d 130kw Manual 6 Spd

I get to Durbs with just over half tank left and that's averaging 160-170km/h
Hope no speed cops here

Hi, yes I have the older e46 320d and my average rating on use is 6.9L/100km.

Thats with hard driving now and then, open road now and then and stop & go mostly.

I get 6l/100km and that is almost exclusively town driving with many stop/starts and the normal JHB traffic. On the open road from JHB to Bloem and back, I've reached 4l/100km with average speeds of 128km/h.

This is ever more reason why I really enjoy driving a diesel. One must bear in mind that I do not put any real stress on the vehicle and drive rather gently. There have been times when I have taken the consumption to 9l/100km, but that was when I was abusing the Sport mode a bit. That feeling outweighs any increase in fuel consumption though and I am certain all diesel drivers will agree with me.

I just drove to Bloem and back last weekend on a tank, at 140km/h constant, as a test after the Jag story.

Check my signature for my consumption, and I don't know how to drive slow

Mine is sitting at 7.2/100km which is why I posted that other thread on fuel injector cleaners.

I do 40km a day return and some of it is stop and go. I would think my car should run more efficient.

I cant help but think, its my injectors that are clogged up, or the oil that needs replacement. This is a 320d, E90 LCI, 135kW.
