Hello everyone, so first of all, let me explain the problem im facing with mt car.
So when i'm trying to move on a hill with a handbrake, the car moves a little bit and its struggling to continue and to accelerate with the pedal on the floor, then i need to press the clutch to prevent the engine stop. I went to a mechanic, he replaced the MAF (Mass-Air Flow) sensor (Its from a VW Golf) , but there's only a little bit of improvement nearly i don't see any difference... Also I've googled everything and i see so many solutions, causes, like turbo lag, vacuum leak, fuel filter... I've bought my car 2 weeks ago and its really a good car, got a nice turbo whistle... If you have any solution, or what is causing this please help, because i really need this problem fixed asap

I don't think you're supposed to have any "turbo whistle" on a standard setup... that could be your problem. I'm sure someone with a bit more knowledge than me will confirm this.

Have you tried releasing the handbrake? :smilebounce:

Does the car drive normally otherwise, acceleration uphill? consumption?

You need to find a better mechanic who can correctly diagnose the fault and not randomly replace parts that have been stripped from other cars.

Yep dude, lulz, im using it because i dont want to roll back
No it doesn't accelerate if i stop and move with a help with the handbrake.
Basically it stalls... Scanned it with a diagnostic tool, no problems found... dunno what to do anymore, hopw the Bosch pump and the turbine are good, and i think they are, otherwise they cost a fortune... :rage:

Wait, let me get this straight. You put a Mass Airflow Sensor from a citi golf in your BMW?

The a**hat fool put a VW Golf Passat MAF, and he said it goes well, i've paid 60 euros for nothing... But i've just cleaned the original one from BMW with a clean spray and i'll try it tommorow... Oh and by the way its a 2001 year model... if that changes anything... Thanks

I recall a post from Coisman - not sure if he used another source - stating that the innards from some VW MAF is exactly the same as some E46 MAFs. It was a significant saving. Perhaps the mechanic went this route? Without exact details one can only speculate.
