I get logical reasons for going the tractor route, but even though my 323 cannot/does not pull like a train down low, I'm not so put off that I'd want to sell to jump into 320d. The hassle/headache of finding the matching spec/year within budget isn't one I'd want to go through, rather get the 320d from the get go.
I love the sound of the smooth motor, the car can easily do + 230, and MSport suspension is perfectly matched to the power (I think too soft for 335i/330d). As long as you don't expect it to be a rocket, the car's great, just add exhaust and intake
