Isn’t the diesels red line at 4000rpm?:fencelook: Maybe get diagnostics done? I would assume that it’s a faulty sensor, as most mechanical issues on a diesel result in black smoke.

Bit more... 5000 or 5500 on that car IIRC :fencelook:

But yep diagnostics should show what the problem is

I not so clued up about diesels, but it sounds like the car has gone into "limp" mode, are there any errors on the screen/on board computer?
