Possible M3 owner

Saw the car on Saturday..
Absolutely amazing.. clean.. work that has been done has been documented.. not Oem csl bumper.

Bought the car after a 30 min teat drive.

Car exceeded my expectations.. then disaster struck.. Driving from dbn to jhb.. 25 kms after warden at 19h30 passing an accident scene and I had a puncher... waited almost 2 hours for a flatbed.. finally arrived and took me to a 24 hour tire shop in warden. They had a 235/40 18.. I took it... drove for 25kms and boom... blowout, ture guys says size was the problem... bmw on call never wanted to help..

Now the car is in warden. I'm in jhb and going to fetch tomorrow.

Dude how sure are you it's a 2004 build?

As far as i remember with the Facelift all of them got Xenon

Facelift was done in '03.... LED lights and xenons were then standard...still miss my car

LED tail lights.

Not sure about the head lights.

What other changes happened in that build and I will check.

Yep, this leads me to believe this car was smashed and badly repaired, explains the shitty front bumper aswell.

It came from the factory with xenons thus it should have xenons. If it was not fitted with xenons after the accident or removed i would have walked away. You never know what else was not properly tended to.

Supposed to have Xenons, if truly a 2004 the wiring for xenons should be there. The headlights look like they came from 2 different cars. RHS looks really old.
Bumper/headlight/hood alignment is all out of shape and the bumper looks silverstone blue in the last pic

I see the xenons wiring in the hood.
Rhs need to be cleaned, only managed to clean the lhs with a restoration kit.
The bumper is different colour for sure.
I'm waiting for the Oem bumper to come up from durban, so I can fit and align everything.

So 2nd hand parts were used in the left side smash then, fixed on the cheap instead of insurance repair. I would dig a little deeper into what else needs replacing if I was you.

This is what I could see so far
Fender and hood and front oem bumper needs to be resprayed.
Realignment need to be done on hood.
Induction parts needs to be replaced.
Headlights need to be replaced.

Everything else seems to be in order.

More importantly you need to go through the engine and drivetrain and suspension as these are critical areas on high performance BMWs, trim and exterior can wait.

Motor, box and diff is in very good condition, but I would still like to do
Valve clearance
Rod bearings
Vanos service.
