So the time has arrived with 2 cars up for the coveted spot in my garage. Spec is irrelevant as they are spec'd just about the same, Xenons, Nav etc. Only the spec's that the other doesnt have will be listed with the car.
Both cars are in impeccable condition.
Resale etc is of concern.

As follows:

'08 135i coupe.
MANUAL
White
Style 261 rims
67k km's on the clock.
1 lady owner
SUNROOF
R260k

'08 335i coupe
STEPTRONIC
Black
18" Rims
62k km's
2 Owners (both meticulous to the nth degree)
NO SUNROOF
R289k

The lack of a sunroof is a bit of a downer on the 335i, but the 335i seems to be cleaner overall than the 135i, showing its age less.
The 135i has the roof and is manual which makes for awesome driving.
Both cars go EXCEPTIONALLY well!
The 135i is +-R20k OVER retail (Market value is +-R25-30k UNDER)
The 335i is +-R35-40k UNDER Retail (Market Value around R350-365k)

Thoughts and opinions please guys.
I love driving but will spend most of my time cruising obviously.
I want the speed and accessibility thereof which both cars delivers in ample amounts, both just as smooth with the 335i probably pipping the 135i out in the regard

Want to seal the deal in the week......

oh, some additional info, if it means anything. I am 24, but not necassarily the boy racer type.
I am also about this tall, this wide, have this colour eyes and am usually just around :fencelook:

test drive them both

I would go for 135i
1) its manual (my preference)
2) 1 lady owner (unlikely she revs the cr*p out of the car)
3) nice rims

minuses for 135i:
1) sunroof (hate them. too noisy when open)

you cant go wrong with either

test driven both.
There is VERY little to choose between them!
As i said, the 335i feels smoother, the 135i feels slightly more brutal, but that 335i pulls just as well if not better than a DCT I drove a week prior.

please please pleeeeeeeeeease get the 135i. i think you have been in the market for this car forever. you can probably drop the asking price. no-one ever gets the price they are asking. order a jb4 immediately afterwards and use the extra money you saved to neaten up the car

+100000

I'm 23 and also had this debate( but only in my dreams). I would choose the 135 because of our age, if I was over 30 then the 335

one other thing. i dont think you should be worried about resale value. you not going to get much for the car once you are done with it. no MP, old 2008 model. buy it and extend the mp for another year (not mileage) and have fun :)

For an 08 the 335 is a bargain. Yes agreed having no sunroof is a bit of a downer but it makes up in other ways plus it's an auto. For some reason an x35 is just way better in an auto for me but personal preference I guess.Black is a looker but it's needs lots of attention which means if car washes are your thing, black is not the colour for you..

The 135 sounds good as well plus ex lady owner is a big plus for me

You can't go wrong with either as Josh said but personally I would go for the 335. Plus you had the 125 so perhaps time to experience something different?

If the 335i was white or space grey, I'd definitely go for it - not a fan of the maintenance on black cars. Would also prefer the manual box, but I hear that the step box isn't to bad on the x35i engines.

Not a fan of the 135i styling, but in this case, it ticks more boxes (for me) than the 335i.

If the 335i is spotless it's going to hurt that much more when you realize that black can scratch just by looking at it :/ Ok it's not that bad but one bad wash and your car is covered in swirls

You're young, get the 135i
Also, x35's are hard to find unmodded so keep that in mind.
Finally, you won't always have the option of a manual car so enjoy them while u can :inlove:

Step box on the x35s make them a bit quicker as opposed to the manual tranny cause they hold boost between gears.

Maybe its just me but sunroof is a must.

With added boost the 135 seems to be more tail happy as opposed to the sedan.

Both are awesome , its just a matter of personal preference
