Was actually quite surprised to see it on the shelf! Was just browsing at that point, but ended up buying some black RustOleum 1200 degree heat/rust resistant paint for the now rusty brake hubs on my Wife's car...

Would this product be suitable to 'shadowline' my car?

Was thinking of vinyl rapping the chrome bits around the window surrounds etc , but do you think this could be a viable solution? sorry don't know much about the product

2 cans of black left at cape gate after I bought 2

It is used to 'shadowline' cars all the time. Google: E90post forums plastidip

Wow... never heard of this stuff, but I have enough work for several cans of the stuff. How "hard wearing" is it? If I do the steering wheel of the X5 where the matt black coating has rubbed away how long will this stuff last?

Not sure exactly how long it'll but it is used to protect mags during winter snow so it should be really tough & it peels right off so go wild

And when u want to remove it

To PlastiDip 4 wheels with 4 coats = 3 - 4 cans.
Black PalstiDip will leave a matt black colour.
One coat of Clear PlastiDip over the black will create Satin Black
2-3 coats of clear will create High Gloss Black

Always spray over the wheel lip. The excess can just be peeled off. Dont mask it off and try and remove the masking tape when its dry because you will rip the Plastidip off with it.

Safe enough to use on rims, interior and on the paint itself if you want to have stripes running over the car.

Easy to remove.

I regret only buying one can. I probably will not do my rims but i might do my 328i badge on the back. Definately doing my ibterior.

3-4 coats. Mask off most of it in a rectangle. Dont worry if you spray onto the car paint. At the end just peel the parts off where the badge and car paint meets.

That's actually pretty cool! Was thinking about using the clear to protect various items without necessarily changing the colour...

if that is really 6 months later, that looks really good.

I want to try do my centre console this week/end. hopefully it comes out awesome!

I should probably put the rest of my interior back first :roflol:

I stripped the rubber coating off of my E46 centre console and treated the 'raw' plastic with silicone spray which made it shine & look good as new.
It was grey so couldn't use plastidip. You may want to try that first
My E90 is black and only the rear part of the centre console has a few marks (previous owner's kids kicked it while sitting in the back seat?) so I'll be using plastidip for that.
