So messed around this morning with the plastidip to check what its all about. I love this product. Did my badge. Did not have to remove anything. Just sprayed on.

Hey guys, was at Builders across from Cape Gate this afternoon, one more black can left over, so for those interested, I hid it behind the more than abundant red cans!

My silly view on the plasti dip..

It sticks to just about anything that you spray it onto.
I did my grilles on the car over the chrome, no sanding or anything required.
And if you don't like it you simply peel it off and have the chrome back. no damage done to it at all. :)

this stuff lasts as i did this and every weekend clean the car with my katcher etc, wash over it and it hasn't come off so it's very durable. :)

So my 2cents says that you don't need to sand or anything

Bud please will you post pics of this great 2 cents you've posted:thumbs:

Anyone try stripes before with it ?

Stripes are very easy. Just tape off section. Spray four coats. Carefully remove tape. Done.

Although depends on what car and what colour car you plan on putting it on. Aesthetically

Yeah I know but there is still a learning curve itsn not just as simple there is correct timing involved too, did mine and did the rims and it works like a charm, but now I'm gonna try to gloss the rims to see how that goes.

gonna go pick up some clear.

and then, I am gonna attempt to do my mirrors and mirror bases, just to see what it looks like :)

The clear is still matte, so it looks a little dull. But depending on the colour car it might not be bad.
Gloss does make it pop very nicely

Nah bru Matte is matte, gloss is gloss, The matte will have little more shine with more coats but sure as heck ain't no gloss. I'll post pics of the difference once I done mine. Also too many coats will make it super Matte again, especially when it has time to dry. lol I've seen that happen too.
If there is someone that's played a lot with plastidip before its me.

this is a close up of a test piece of plastic I did

4 coats black 30 minutes apart and 4 coats clear 30 minutes apart the next day.

the clear pretty much did nothing with regards to gloss.

using pre soaked 1500 git wet paper significantly improved the touch, and would most definately not skip this step

the vertical line at the top right is an intentional high pressure thumbnail scratch. this stuff is very durable
