Its going to be more professional just to fit second hand OEM stuff.

What car bud, everything can be retrofitted, and then you get a bumper that is not "cut and bashed" to fit the PDC sensors.

there used to be "laser park pro" which had some added side benefits in that it messed with laser speed detection, other than that there is a company in car magazine that installs PDC or you can get DIY kit from autostyle...

Hi Cole, thanks for the info, will look into it .. the DIY's from autostyle are cheap but i don't personally wanna drill holes, i'll leave that to the pro's.

There is this unit from www.parkingdynamics.co.uk that does not need ANY drilling at all uses stick on "antenna" that goes under the bumper ... looks decent.

I have fitted parking sensors to both my old 1998 E39 528i and to my wife's 2005 Astra (sold). The biggest problem was the routing of the wiring. To fit the sensors in the E39 bumper i had to remove the bumper which in itself is not a major job. Cutting with the tool supplied with the kit was easy (i cut through the black rubber strip in the bumper - just make sure you do not cut the hole where the brackets are located). On the Astra i had some touch up paint and painted the sensors the same colour as the car (gold). Looked professionally done.
The sensors themselves did not work very well as they would sometimes pick up the road surface, etc. Wife did not like them very much. My 2003 E39 has them as original equipment and it is something i do not find very helpfull. Would rather fit reverse camera if in your shoes.

I dont think the aftermarket stuff will assist you in anyway...the sensors are either too sensitive or not sensitive at all.

We had aftermarket fitted to our old Jeep..

From Day 1 it gave problems, they replaced it twice & had it sprayed a few times to try match it to the bumper.. it never worked properly anyway..

try get proper BMW one & get it fitted..

the amount of money that you are gonna waste on an aftermarket PDC, you could tip off a million irritating parking assistants, that always flock towards you every time you come close to thinking about parking.
