Parts prices good news for a change.

Ok, so I am the loud mouth here when it comes to bitching about BMW ZA parts prices policy.

As you all know I'm now busy with a restore on a 93 E34 M5 and have just had to order a fat load of parts from BMW to get the car sorted.

Surprise, surprise, and credit where credit is due THANK YOU BMW ZA! I see you have dropped some prices, maybe somebody is listening out there finally.

Keep going, you are restoring my faith in the brand.

Some stuff I noticed.

1) Antifreeze was like R65 now R50
2) Expanding rivets were R60 now R3.59
3) Acellerator cable was approx R750, now R400
4) I even bought a new MTec II steering, was like nearly 10K, now R 3800
5) Engine parts for an S38B36, not too bad at all.

Just drop the price of your radiators and you will be the good guys again.

I still had to pay R40 for two gutter sliders which are teeeeenie plastic bits.

But good news non the less. Looking forward to a neat OEM repair, Rick.

I found price variations between dealerships for parts some time ago. Not too sure if this is still the same, thus the reason for shopping around.

That's good to hear! Hopefully they are now understanding the concept of, they will make more money selling lots of "R100" priced items compared to a few "R1000" priced items that sit for a long time in stock! Figures not to be taken literal, but the idea of profit margin over demand...
