Hi Sash,

Its a late (Nov/Dec if I recall) 2009. I'm round the corner from you in Leisure Bay

Just double checked - 2009-12-22 model

You should drop by, I have to clean my car for Cars and Coffee tomorrow.

Ah ok, seems that BMW changed the mirrors just before they stopped production ( from 08/2009 they had new mirrors), confirmed on RealOEM

My Dads, 2003, M/Benz, S55 AMG V8 Kompressor. Mileage is 70,000km. Cleaner than most cars on the road. Only used for special occasions. Only around 50 brought in to SA. Supercharger pulley upgraded, software and exhaust headers. Sounds like a beast. Makes around 420kw at the flywheel and 900 NM of torque. :cartel:

Stunning Capri you have there Vish!!

Would that be the RS3100 motor or what do you have in there? Engine wise?

In their day the Cosworth Racing version made something like 324 KW with a twin Carb.
Unbelievable.

I remember the Capri as somewhat desirable as a kid but have never been in one nor driven one.

What are they actually like to drive?
I believe the handling was greatly improved on the later models and went on to do well in the touring class racing.

So what does a car like that do in terms of performance and how does it feel at speed?
Thank you Maverick
The Capri Perana was a Ford factory produced 302W, V8. Conversion was done by Basil Green motors for Ford. Power was 210kw. 0 to 100 was claimed to be 6.7 seconds in 1970. There were approx 550 of these cars produced.
Driving an old school V8 is something every driver should experience at least once in their lifetime.

The XR8 is a much more balanced car, better handling and braking.

Always had 3 dream cars and nothing else. :blowheart:

The Ford Sierra XR8, VW VR6 and the BMW 540i.

I have the other 2 beside the XR8 :blueCry:

99 C230K Sport 380000km and still starts on the turn. As a daily the consumption is surprisingly good.
