Oil slow in getting up to temperature

Hi Guys,

I have a E92 325i with N52 engine. I've never had an oil temperature gauge before so I have no reference, but it feels as if the oil should be getting up to temperature a little bit faster (see graph below). I've thought that it could be a sticky/stuck open thermostat but I am not getting any codes. I also don't have a long enough commute to see big drops in coolant temperature when I am on the open road.

Any thoughts? How quickly should my oil get up to the 90-95°C mark? I am using Shell Helix Ultra 5-40W.

Thanks!

EDIT: Typo

Oil takes longer to warm up then water you are used to water gauge(assumption). It is normal and the cold weather is also a factor. Mar sometimes takes about 15 Mins to warm up while driving on highway

looks normal to me :) least now you know when it is safe to rev the engine as apposed to guessing off the water temp

Thanks. Had no gauge! Just an LED to tell me when the $h1t has already hit the fan...

Glad that BMW added at least the oil temp gauge on the E92.

Thanks for the confirmation - indeed.
