I have e36 325i coupe and i have to do an oil service this weekend, i need to know how much oil does it take and what type of oil should i use.i know that i must change the oil filter too, is there anything else i have to change? Advice from the experts needed urgently (just clocked 200 000k)

Where's the best place to get these items?

Cheers

6.5lt BMW LL01 or LL04 spec-it'll say so on the bottle/can/whetever you buy that holds the oil...You should get a filter kit which will inlcude all the washers you need to change too.A crush washer goes on the sump drain plug and you should torque this back up to 25nm when putting it back. There are little O rings which need to be replaced in the oil filter housing-which you will see when you take the old filter out.....Things to make it easier is drain it when the oil is warm-it'll be more viscous and drain easier and quicker do not take off the oil filler cap or oil filter out yet while draining cause oil will splash everywhere..when the oil starts slowing down then take the filler cap off and it'll all come out.Once you changed the filter and are putting the filter housing cap back on you should torque this too to 25nm...

Its not as important as torqueing the sump drain plug-many people overdo the sump drain plug and it it ends up threading the sump....not a cheap fix
