OBD II Scanner

I am looking to buy a scanner for my 2013 120d BMW.

I do not have a clue as that what scanner to buy. I am currently looking at a Carly unit, but it seems it must be imported?

Are there any good local units available? I would like to scan for codes, clear codes, reset service lights, and maybe tweak some settings.

Hi there, i believe yours is F Series,
you can go the Carly route, for the option of Scanner and Licence, its not badly priced, then what ever the duties are.

The other option is a MHD wifi adaptor, but, this is not compatible with Carly i think, but i can remember if thats true or not.

Ah apologies, then a normal KDcan cable that you can buy from Gumtree is fine, and just down load protool and buy the diagnostic Licence.
If you plan to do coding, then you will need Carly or buy the master licence on Protool.

I have been looking around for the scanner and software.

It seems as if most people recommend Bimmercode, Protool OR Carly.

If I want to buy the scanner tool for Protool / Bimmercode, what scanner do you guys recommend. I have seen prices from R200 to R1800.
