Non facelift to facelift external cosmetics

Hi guys,

I can get hold of a 2001, German spec, RHD, pre facelift 330Ci in BRILLIANT nick!:dropjaw: Only 65K on the clock and in like new condition. I won't divulge the price, but think in terms of used Tazz prices!!!!:clap: My question is, will removing the little panel below the headlights and replacing with facelift syle panel and xenons (with all the parephenalia that goes with it) be possible? The car has the little sprays that jump out to clean the headlights, but I won't be too perturbed if I lose that, it is more for European conditions. The car is fitted in M-sport pack, but no xenons, just yellow reflectors in the low beams..:mmm:. It also has rain sensing, auto dip rear view mirror, heated EVERYTHING, HK sound, euro spec nav (with graphic map) and even genuine BMW M-Sport mats! The German spec'd ones apparently have higer output motors. It is 6 speed auto with paddle shift and HU display! The specs on this thing are amazing and I don't think one could add another thing, except a tow hitch, which I would not put on a coupe! The car was imported by an old guy from the UK and registered in SA in 2004. He's bought a 645Csi....lots of cash (pound is king)! I drove it last night and I WANT IT! Even if I have to rob a bank! Fcuk the resession!!!!

Dont change it! the pre faclift coupes look SOOOOO much better than the facelift ones.

oh and if you dont buy it...... I WANT IT!!!!

SMGI sucks compared to SMGII though. but I wouldnt hesitate, the cool thing about that, is that everyone will think its a 325CI and will be shocked when you whoop their asses!

Yeah I was kicking tyres on a 330Ci a while ago. Sad that I didn't buy it, but for me it was the right decision.

Pre-facelift wins for me, don't change it. The facelift ones look "feminine" to me, whereas pre-facelift look more brutish. IMHO.

I think that you are talking about the convertible, the proper 330Ci is a coupe. We only got the 323Ci and 325Ci in South Africa, overseas the convertible is known as the 330CiC

No dudes, the car is IN SA! Name badge on the @rse says 330Ci, not CiC.... German spec right hand drive, fully loaded. I also don't mind pre F/L, but those yellow dimms!! Yirre dis lelik! I'll see mif I can find pre F/L headlights somewhere. I've made an offer and put in an application so holding thumbs! Only problem is, I don't have the cash, so finance, banks, recession, credit cunch, private sale..... who knows what will happen! Then there's still the little niggle of getting rid of the oiler, ag fok, my senuwees!

If by german spec you are referring to the ZHP package, then you will have more aggressive cams in that motor than normal.

That must be the one, then. I drove it last night on my own and was astonished at the pulling power. I could not believe the response from the flappy paddles! The engine note also changes drastically at high RPM, probably due to that second flappy thing in the xhaust! It also felt like a stage 1 and stage 2 during acceleration, but then I'm used to the smooth, surging power from a diesel. From standstill the 330 accelerates like a scolded cat and with the traction turned off, it will light up both rear wheels! When I got back to the guy's house the car was ticking like mad, and I was slightly embarassed! The old guy never took the car above 160 and on the first burn, black carbon, soot and kak shot out of the back! That was cleared up very soon though:thumbsup: I took her on the highway and got up to about 230 no problem. Only problem is after playing for half an hour I used about a quarter tank of juice!!!!:spit: I can see many a speed ticket heading my way, if everything works out!!!!

ZHP available in SA? I thought it was USA only? Cant say i have every heard of German Spec unless people speak about e36 M3's but even in that context the term makes no sense.

I believe the UK had the clubsport version of the 330Ci and 330i (he did say the car came from the UK). This is a beautiful example: http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=675879&highlight=clubsport It even came out of the factory with a wing on the boot!:clap:
