Hi Guys,

Yes this is a BMW forum for us fanatics, but once in a while there will come a time when a gem like this comes by that we cant just say no too.

A very big thank you to Coisman for doing a back ground check.

Car: 1996 VW Jetta VR6 Auto
Mileage: 30 000kms YES YOU READ CORRECTLY - I don't have Zuma syndrome.

I tried to find something wrong with this car but I came out with 4 faults.

1. Grill has been changed. Why, I don't know. looked for accident damaged and cant see anything.
2. Cubby hole lock broken, this was jammed as it not been opened for a very very very very long time.
3. Small dent at the front of the car below the headlight on the grill. Nothing too noticeable.
4. BBS cap missing at the rear LHS wheel rim.
5. Old battery leaked at some point due to the car standing, leaking acid on the brackets and fire wall.
6. Car has never been serviced according to the books as they are still new. I took a chance and bought the car knowing this. :skit:

History on this car from what I've have been told and it is evident in the condition.

The car was owned by a 87 year old lady. (Log Book proves her age)
She sadly passed away 8 years ago and the car has been parked ever since. It was inherited together with her retirement home and a holiday home in Haarties by her neighbour a 72 year old who decided to sell the car now that the estate was sorted out.

Things that I have sorted,

I did a full fluid change. Car rides like a dream. Its unbelievable!
Gearbox is a bit 'lazy'. That will be looked at very soon. This can be expected seeing that car has been parked off, never the less I still bought it.

and now for the pics ....:tiptoe:

What a gem of a find!!

I would look at finding a VR6 manual cableshift box. The autos were useless in those days.

The auto only really became a nice box when the G5 was released.

Was looking at doing a manual conversion on this car but i'm quite liking the auto.

Beside that I would love to keep it OEM.

Thanks for the comments guys. It truly is a gem.
I just had the car on the ramp. The under carriage is cleaned. It looks just the way it looked when it came out the factory.

Can anyone assist in uploading the balance of the pics.

I will gladly mail them.

What a legendary find!
Enjoy :)
Post more pics for us, of the books and odometer.
It's worth documenting such a low mileage find!!!

Using the image uploader "add picture to post" option under the text box, you can only upload one image at a time, and each image may not be more than 5mb.

You're very lucky. Its very hard getting a VR6 that's in excellent condition like that one, congrats bro. I've seen automatic VR6's but haven't heard one drive off etc, does it sound as heavenly as the manual?

Dude, a find of note.
I owned a golf vr6 in the day, and often miss it.
Mind telling us how much you paid?
