Really nice find!

Brings back memories of mine - was a white 95 model with the black textured section on the top of the bumper (also preferred this to the full colour coded as per yours), manual. Those rims were an absolute bitch to keep clean.... ended up ditching them for TSW Hockenheim R 17' and Michelins, actually made a huge difference, not only looks wise but also cornering improved. Also dropped in a Koni suspension which lowered the car nicely, not too much (around an inch front and inch and a half rear - so the stance was level) and the ride quality also improved funnily enough - not to mention the handling.

Fond memories of being younger

Word of advice - get the belts changed (age in your case) as if they break the engine implodes with things hitting each other and these motors are rather pricey - a colleague at work had this happen many years ago and it cost him in the region of R40k then to fix.

Congrats.

Aaaaah this brings back so many memories!!!

My mother used to drive a dark blue Jetta VR6 Auto just like this one! My cousins and I were hooked on them. For the longest time I wanted one, a Golf in Aubergine :smilebounce: but by the time I could afford one, they were mostly driven into the ground - aubergine being even harder to come by.

This is an awesome find man, keep it forever! :smilebounce:

Stunning, congrats :praise:

Just a quick question, doesn't the leather seats look much more worn/lines than a car that did only 30k km?:fencelook:

nah they good - mine also dried out like that from very early on - so you have to treat them often with leather care.

Good day gents. I have been requested of recent for updates on the car.

There are no real updates, the biggest being that i coverted the car to manual.

I did the wiring loom on the auto box about 6 months ago. Then a month later the auto box started misbehaving again, this times the clutches were giving issues. Sourcing the clutches were an issue so i threw in the towel and converted the car to manual. I came to this decision as the auto box was very temperamental and due this car standing for long periods i saw this was going to be a constant problem in the future.

It was easier sourcing a VR6 manual box and all the goodies needed for the conversion.

At first i was nervous but after picking up the car this week, that nervousness was thrown out the window.

The difference is chalk and cheese, the car is alive again and made me realise how boring and sluggish it was in auto. (I got too used to the E39)

The ups are, the feeling of the low down grunt through all the gears. Consumption is down to 10.0 local driving. I could never get her to below 13 in auto guise. I havent taken her on the open road as yet as the roads are pretty busy and the attraction this car gets is phenomenal. So thisnis on hold for now.

The downs, nothing at all.

When i do take the car out again. I will update with pictures of the exterior.

Next on the list, will be its annual service in Jan.

Cheers and blessed new to you all.
