With those ET numbers they won't even be close to fitting a E46. You need ET35-40 to fit E46 correctly.

the style 42's i got from you those years back fitted quite well though, almost zero rubbing only in most extreme conditions, they were 8j front et20, 205/45, 9j rear et26, 225/45
these are only 6mm/et20 at the rear so i wouldnt imagine that much of a difference?

i also need to get my fenders rolled atm anyway

Well there we go. The only way they can work is to used super skinny tyres on them and that is a safety issue in itself. Buy ones with the right offset and run 225s and 255s like the wheels are meant to have.

Is 255s better on the rear? Like will it be a lot better than 225s all around?

I myself is looking add getting new tyres, and have 18" 8J wheels. They looks like they are E37 (well the numbers inside the wheels look like it, but cant tell for sure, they stamped it in real small).

i do agree with you, definitely
i have my scepticism and doubts about tyres that are too small for a wheel,
lucky i have never had an issue so far with that,
from my experience over the last few years, 205 on 8j, 225 on 9j doesnt seem to be pushing the boundaries

so over the last 2 weekends i painted my chrome window trim black, and my bronze wheels white,
i also finished up the grey interior pieces that i replaced the black and red panels with,

theres also a couple photos of the 330i brakes and how the fill the 17's, also the spacers

also these wheels will be for sale soon, will make an ad later, 4x all wides 8j et46 style 109's

only my rear wheels have arrived so far, but il get the other 2 next week, couldnt wait so i got them fitted anyway:=):
i think they look great and fit great, really cool wheels for the car as well, cant wait for the fronts,
would love to see them with the car lowered,
also a mileage milestone:=):
