so,
After seeing a certain car come up for sale earlier this month, any unclarity or doubt in my mind as to what my next car would be was settled there and then.
I spoke to the owner via pm as soon as i saw the advert http://www.bmwfanatics.co.za/showthread.php?tid=74492
as he mentioned, i was the first person to contact him which ended up in my favour.
I had wanted a change from my e46 pre facelift 330i manual, even though it was the best car i have owned to date, brilliant all rounder, and served me very well in its 3 years under my ownership. I had also missed having an e39 since i sold my 540i/6 a while ago.
I had first thought of possibly get an e92 325i or an e82 125i/120d, but because of current financial reasons, that would not have worked out. I then thought of getting an e46 323ci or 325ci, as well as looking into a few e39 530i's, 540i/6's and 530d's.
Then Wykid's (Alvin) car came up for sale and the rest is history.
I luckily sold my 330i to solo man (Johan) that very same weekend to send through payment for the 530i and secure it for myself.
I swear, my heart started pounding in my chest and i was filled with excitement seeing that for sale thread, and wondering if i would be the first person to make an offer and get the car, i almost couldn't deal with the suspense...
there are few things that make me feel this way, clearly e39's are one of them.
I had and still haven't seen the car in the flesh, which to an extent can be very risky, but i am certain that the choice i made will be a good one. The beautiful and striking paint colour was the first thing that stood out for me, a rarity for sure as i have never seen an e39 in this colour before, i have always loved e39's and e46's in grey or silver grey, but this was even better and even more special in my opinion. Next was the fact that it was a facelift individual, what a difference it makes to the e39, as well as the style 66 wheels
raise: Then the interior colour and condition, though it seems like keeping it clean will require some effort, it definitely is worth it in my opinion with the well suited contrast to the exterior colour. Since my 330i i had also fallen in love with the M54B30 motors.
As shown in the picture below, the car has been loaded on the train and should be on its way to me in Cape Town:rollsmile: It should arrive sometime around 4:00pm tomorrow and i just can't wait, i want to go to bed right now to make tomorrow come sooner! I couldn't even wait till i receive it to start a thread for it, hence this post:rollsmile:
i swear to myself to give this prime example the care and respect it deserves.
will definitely post once i get it!
