Newbie looking for a 330i

Hello all, a good 2nd hand car salesman friend of mine told me about this forum, wish I'd known about it earlier. I drive a 325i, currently on 488 000km, never opened the motor, tough cars indeed...Well, it is now time to replace, I'm looking for a 2002ish 330i, mileage under 190 000 for a fair price, no finance needed if the price is right, must be manual. Once you've had a BMW there can be no other brand....

Welcome dude

Post some pics of your ride - especially that speedo showing 488K KM's. Some people believe that BMW's explode after 100K KM.

As for the E46 330i, they are brilliant cars. Try to find a 6 speed manual if you can - I think they were introduced in late 2002. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

Correction, March 2003 saw the change from 5spd to 6spd on the manual.

I bought it at around 190 000 km. Motor never been opened, had a new radiator, thermostat, visco coupling, clutch changed at 450 000km, I towed a caravan occasionally, often tow a bike trailer with a variety of bikes onboard, done discs, still has original exhaust, fitted with HID headlights, 4th windscreen, suffered minor damage to bonnet once when a spade fell off a garden service bakkie some time back, otherwise never been in an accident. I bought it for R53K, was the trade in price at that time, the car has been worth every cent. I maintain and service it myself.

Found what I was looking for, and discovered a pretty addictive forum, very informative.
Will start a 'before and after' thread soon....
