Hi Guys!!
Recently bought my 2nd BMW, first one was a e90 320i and upgraded to the face-lifted 320d.
Loving the torque <3!!!:inlove:

Already enjoying my stay on the forums, nice bunch of German nutters here!!!

Would like to start off by asking a dumb question, seeing as I have never driven/owned a turbo car before, do I need to warm the car before driving it around (let it idle)? Same goes for turning it off, do I need to let it breath a bit?
Don`t want to hurt the turbo or anything else by being to scared to ask questions.

:+1:

Hey bud welcome to the forum

Good question with regards to warming up and cooling down.

Dont push the car hard until the car is up to operating temps. Also good to let the car idle for atleast 30 seconds after driving to let the turbo 'cool down'

Shot, thnx for the quick reply. Will definitely not push the car hard when it's still cold.
30 second cool down sounds easy enough!!

Also your last 5 min or so of driving, take it easy with the car, keep the revs low

Welcome

Never idle a car upon startup in order to get it warm. It can do more harm than good. Just start and drive nice and easy like a grandpa until up to proper operating temp.

+1 on the last 5 mins or so of driving being calm, especially after some spirited driving. Think of it as doing a victory lap.
