Finally had a chance to get the car up in a lift as my stepfather’s new workshop is finally up and running.

Needless to say, this man knows what’s up.

Both brackets were broken, so the handbrake cables are rubbing against the driveshaft under harsh acceleration. They’re in a metal sleeve which is why it sounded like metal on metal.

Didn’t have any spare brackets obviously, so they’re just cable-tied in position for the time being until I get some replacement clips.

Other than that she still looks like a college student underneath. Check all bushings, seals, etc and the only thing that appears to need attention is the bump stops (completely toast) and some weeping at the gearbox
What did I say about "either than that"? I see you are coping well

Guys, please. Change your cabin air filters. It’s a thing. Just do it. Don’t be like this guy.

Just picked up the car after having the aircon repaired. Having been without the frosty goodness for a while, I can wholeheartedly say that aircon is one of the best inventions of the 20th century, perhaps even rivalling ice cream sandwiches.

Work done to the car in the past year:

New battery
New left rear taillight
Android Auto/Apple Carplay infotainment screen added to the car
Timing Chain service/replacement
Windscreen washer pump replaced
Serpentine belt(s) and tensioner replaced
Loose handbrake cable secured
Air conditioning fixed
2 x services

Work still required:
Driver's seat bolster pump fixed (not sure what the issue is yet)

Overall it's been a decent (if expensive) year of vehicle ownership. This car has cost me more in the last year than my previous one did in the 6 years of owning it. That one was bought new though, so that's maybe not fair.

I'm still thoroughly enjoying her though and now that she's all good, I'm hoping for a brief reprieve.
