Did my gear shift over the weekend, BMW didn't have all the parts but replaced the most common problem parts at a cost R360.00 and it is a massive improvement!! Took about three hours following the instructions that I posted above. I think it would have made it 100% had I been able to do the bushes on the solid shaft as well, there is a little play in that which I felt whilst I had it apart. I'm a little pedantic, most people would say that it is 100%! But there is certainly nothing wrong with my gearbox!!
