review New daily acquired - P Series

Congrats man!

Im pretty sure many new bakkie owners seriously consider this bakkie, only to think twice due to no long term review or reputation yet. If they get a good rep for reliability, then i think they will sell like hot cakes.

I was at parking lot where a white Ford Ranger Wildtrack was parked directly opposite a top of the range white P series.
i have to say the P series looked better to me, aesthetically and even the interior. The interior looks very impressive. Im curious if the interior feels as premium as it looks? Does it have the rite sold feels. Do the buttons feel solid and not light and cheap. The small things that make a car feel premium and well built. It even looked a tad bigger than the Wildtrack, just due to the design.

Looking forward to your ownership and its adventures

so i got the ''commercial' version - couldnt afford the full spec one.

All the buttons feel really good, i opted for the cloth seats as im not sure how the fake leather would age.
iv been working for Hyundai for 11 years now, and the quality of the interior feels like you would get in a new tucson or something like that.

In terms of size is it slightly longer and wider than the likes of a the ranger and hilux.

Sounds promising. My friend just upgraded from an old Triton, to a medium spec P series. He is loving it! His only complaint was, he said the sound system or speakers are shocking. And he had original sound in his old Triton. He also has a canopy which i find interesting. i searched on Autotrader and didnt find a single pic of one with a canopy. So petty cool to see how it looks with one.

I like that they have ZF gearboxs. I rate a speaker upgrade, a remap, and you have a perfect Bakkie.

Just a little on so called "non premium" brands. Where I am in Asia currently, here is a huge number of MG and Proton SUV vehicles roaming around, these SUV's are really nice, inside and out.

Look at this MG HS for example, who would not want to drive this. So, value is out there, if you can get over your brand "loyalty".

Apologies for diluting your thread Nick ;)

Last night the car ran its auto DPF cleaning cycle on the way home, basically just told me to keep driving and keep the revs above 2000rpm.
Run its cycle and carried on as normal.

So far i love not caring about kak road surfaces, and standing water, just drive through it all.

Congrats on the new ride. I think this is a nice feeling.

1st weekend with the P was good.

Jozi saw some heavy rain this weekend, I drove it in the storm to test the windscreen wipers and lights - she passed that test.
On Saturday i got caught in quite a large hail storm too, the N1 was white with ice. The Bakkie didnt care as i joined the rest of the boets in their bakkies and we just drove through it.

This morning the fuel gauge hit a quarter tank, so i filled her up - she took another R1200.00 and gave me a range of 800km (80 liter tank) , ill drive this tank out and see how far i can stretch it.

Netstar People are coming to install a wireless unit this morning- i HATE tracking units !

Congrats Nick,

Very nice bakkies these. I have only seen them on the dealership floor but if the Haval Jolion (replaced the Tiguan) is anything to go by then there is no doubt in my mind these Chinese brands have really upped their game.

Just how do they afford to sell them soo cheap (affordable). The Mother Of All P Series will only costs R500k with all the bells and whistles. Equivalent Ranger and Hilux are almost a million or so.

Congrats and wishing you many happy miles
