So after selling the e90, i started looking for a used double cab bakkie.
My price point was between R250k and R300K, looked for a week and didnt find much that was looked after.
I did find a clean amarok in PTA but the guy wanted 130k over retail, I said id consider it but i needs to see the car 1st.
2 weeks of asking the guy, i still haven't seen it...

Yesterday i had a thought, called a mate who is the DP at GWM/Haval in woodmead, Drove all of the P series bakkies and was VERY surprised at the quality of them at the price point.

We had a chat and 30 mins later i submitted an app on a demo SX 8 speed ZF commercial version, deal is done and i get the keys tomorrow.

Price : R380k
specs: 2.0l TDI - 120kw 400nm- 8 speed ZF 4x2 .
Upgraded 18'wheels from the passenger version and a roll bar.
5 year service and warranty.

ill document ownership here.

Im not going to lie, GWM/Haval are very soon going to Dominate SA, if they not already doing so.

The amount of tech you get and the quality of the cars they making now is Phenomenal. and the cherry on top is the pricing for everything you get with the car

Congrats Nick. Many happy/enjoyable miles ahead

Congrats nick, wish you many happy and safe kms ahead.

I agree with the above sentiments, I have seen a ton of these in the road especially in KZN, they seem to appear more often than the Ford Rangers even. Very keen to follow your ownership on these, value for money right here.

Congrats Nick. I really like these bakkies. Here's to many years and kms of happy driving.

Oh btw, I need to move some stuff this weekend. Any chance I could borrow your bakkie? 🤣

Congrats man!

Im pretty sure many new bakkie owners seriously consider this bakkie, only to think twice due to no long term review or reputation yet. If they get a good rep for reliability, then i think they will sell like hot cakes.

I was at parking lot where a white Ford Ranger Wildtrack was parked directly opposite a top of the range white P series.
i have to say the P series looked better to me, aesthetically and even the interior. The interior looks very impressive. Im curious if the interior feels as premium as it looks? Does it have the rite sold feels. Do the buttons feel solid and not light and cheap. The small things that make a car feel premium and well built. It even looked a tad bigger than the Wildtrack, just due to the design.

Looking forward to your ownership and its adventures
