Hi guys

I want to put new pads on my 325ci and wish not to go to the stealership.

any advice? I also have that brake disc warning light. Does it come off automatically if i dnt put the sensor back.

Do i need new discs?

i also need front lower control arm bushes :(

Im thinking the light should go off with the new pads in.

Also youtube helped me alot with DIY brakes/bushes and such.

Control arm bushes - get meyle HD from Incomex, they last longer than OE. You might be able to get the other parts from them as well, otherwise just get ATE pads from Goldwagen/Midas/Autozone. Discs you need to inspect, if below the wear limit, replace. If metal-metal contact occurred, replace.

If the brake warning light has come on you will need to either replace one or both of the sensors.
You only need new discs if the old ones are worn, ie they have large ridge at the edge of the disc or the surface of the disc is uneven.

I think you can go to either midas or autozone as they sell the ATE pads which the same as the OEM pads just just not BMW branded.
Or if you are in pretoria you can go to bemows, they sell febi-bilstein pads.

what about febi pads. the guys at goldwagen quoted me on those pads?

I installed brand new febi bilstein discs and pads recently. I'm stil running them in...

They aren't fancy smanzy Brembo's or whateva, but they work just fine. As good as the OEM stuff I would imagine.
