Replacement Discs and Pads

Hi Guys, hope url well. I need to replace my front brake pads and discs. Obviously I want reliable brands, but also dont want to spend a fortune, need good priced reliable brand. Saw some of the guys saying sure brake is good and somebody also told me about LMB brand. Please can any of you recommend good quality affordable brand for discs and pads and pricing. I have a 2016 F30 320i Msport.

I used SureBrake on my e46. no issues other than it seems to run down Allot faster than ATE brand. and makes hell of allot of Brake dust.

For over 25 years i have been buying brake parts from Midas/Autozone local spares shops, Ate, Feredo, alfa they all perform about the same and cost virtually nothing. If its a run of the mill car that you not tracking dont waste money on anything else.

Goldwagen sell Hella Pagid, Febi Bilstein and surebrake.

All 3 will get the job done but I usually go for the Febi or Hella pagid stuff.

My only issue with aftermarket Discs is that the hub section rust on most aftermarket brands. My OCD cannot handle that, so I stick to OEM discs and pads.

I have heard the brand Stone discs are good and really cheap.

Haven't tried them myself as I also use OEM.

Use rustech spray on the exposed parts and copper grease on the hub and it will be a non issue atbthe fraction of the price. Im also ocd about these things but im also a scrooge 🤣

I cringe a little when people tell me they paid 10k plus to change disc and pads on a normal car.

I had a experience with aftermarket disc on my e39 530i. I bought aftermarket set and after 3000km they warped and car was shaking, skimmed.. same story. bought another aftermarket set, same story. ended up buying OEM after recommendations of a BMW specialist. 20k km later I'm all good.. but on my e36 I never had that issues.. so it can be hit and miss

I did Hella Pagid on the Porsche. It has a coating that doesn't seem like it will rust. YMMV as I guess it might be different for different cars. This was brand new BTW. The hub portion looks the same still after washing a few times and some rainy weather. It was not the cheapest, but still the same price as one disc alone from Porsche so can't complain. The difference vs. surebrake was not big enough for me to think about going with a 'house brand'

The Surebrake discs are also coated and don't rust. Will replace E90 discs with Surebrake when the time comes, had very good luck with them on the E36 considering how hard it gets driven.
