:thumbdo: It really sucks especially on new car

Really amazes me as to what the stealers actually do with regards to Quality check and PDI , noticed a missing wheelnut on mine last month the next day after delivery. :argh:

Update #2

Dealer contacted me, they located the leak. Its the clamping on the turbo oil feed pipe ....
Its not a profuse leak as such, but under load its pushing the oil out.
They said its aproximately 150ml of oil that was lost.
However if u look @ it it looks like a shit load of oil ....

I've only driven this car hard twice since i got it and not from low down.
Hope there wasnt any adverse affects on other components.

They ordered a new pipe, unfortunatley it has to come from Germany as there is no stock of it in SA. .... :thumbdo:

So im stuck with a 320LCi loaner for the next week ......

Sorry guy, at least it was something small. I have to ask though:

You said the car has 500km's on the clock. Does the "run in period" no longer apply to new cars or can you drive them hard from the word go?:fencelook:

If I sold a car or many of a specific car and model I would at least make sure I have one of each part in stock. :nonono:

Well, the dealer did not brief me on a "run in period" when i bought it ... However, at my own discretion, i did not hammer the car from low down. When i say i drove the car hard twice, i actually meant from abt 100km p/h i footed it to abt 160km p/h ... thats all.....

you don't need to run in anymore.

you still have a long way to go on MP, so if it affected anything else you covered.

Yeah i agree, but can do w/o all that hassle if anything else breaks ...

UPDATE :

Its almost a month now and my car is still with the dealership. Inlet oil line was received two weeks ago and fitted.
On test drive it was found that the outlet oil line started to leak aswell. They checked the oil pressure in the lines and its within parameters. So yes, i had to wait from then for the outlet pipe to come as its also on back order from germany. Today they tell me the partis leaving the warehouse in germany .... :argh:

Oh, they replaced that 320 loaner with a new 325i, after complaining abt the power ... :ty:

omg .. what a nightmare ... at least you have a 325i ... but really please ask them for something as compensation, you paid for a pre delivery check and now you are being shafted after having bought a new car. Ask them for a BMW driving experience voucher or a polo shirt. They must give you something if they can't give you your car.

I'm not too familiar with the layout of the 335i motor but I would have the electronic components next to or below those leaking pipes checked as well.

For example any oil getting into the alternator would be bad.

Not a good experience on buying a new car...unacceptable. One month for a bloody pipe is rediculous. Now drive the shit of that 325

I would of told bmw stick their car, ! month old car i would never allow repairs like that to be carried out!! Either get me a new car or refund me whatever money i incured. I am shocked you going allowing them to repair a brand new car and especially a higher end spec.

Hi, update # 4

Part arrived, its gonna be fitted on monday.
Yes, alot of people said give the car back and i have thought about it.
The thing is ...

1) Where do you find a brand new E90 335i to replace ?
2) I did get it at a very good price, so if they do refund me, i will
probably be inline for a new 320d sports fully loaded.

I also have a good 2-3 months to decide weather or not i want this car. If it does give me any issues, i can always give it back as there is already a history of this car.

So these are my thoughts guys, what do u think i should do ?

Have tthem fit the part & enjoy the car.

Keep the car if it performs well.

I tried dealing with the CPA in a similar matter and eventually had to get my own lawyers involved...CPA called me in July (6 months after the case was settled in December) to find out if I still need their help...:yuck:

Pretty much a useless organisation tbh...much like most other GOV efforts.:nonono:
