N55 vs N54 Coil Packs

Hi Guys,

I need to replace Coils on my n54.

I see the original ones fitted was by Bosch. BMW has replaced Bosch and supply Eldor coils for n54.

I also see on the International forums they are using N55 Coils on the N54 and they believe its a stronger build since they are also being used on the latest N20s and so on.

Question is.....Which do i buy now. N55 and N54 coils are around the same price

Bosch. I have had zero issues. This is considering I have owned two FBO stock turbo cars, a hybrid setup and two ST N54's. Bosch worked from stock power up to 600whp for me.

Looks like there is a shortage of Bosch coils. Bosch said they will be getting stock in the country mid Feb

I havent used them before, apparently the Goldwagen coils are pretty good and last.

Not sure how true tho

Bosch as well, I replaced a complete set of 6 on my Yubens car when I got it and it never missed a beat in my 2 years of ownership, same story with The Reaper...

Nope still on plan.....but the car does not missfire when its stock
