Hey guys, today after doing about 40kms my car started making this weird chirping noise when i am standing still and rev it. I saw a couple of posts saying the PCV could cause a chirping noise but the whole valve cover was done in 2022. I will attach a video any help would be appreciated.
Car is a f30 335i PWG 129xxx kms
It sounds like PCV (as far as a video allows us to diagnose) but you can just do the PCV test.
Get the car to "chirp", either by slight rev or turning on your AC and once it does open your oil cap, if it's PCV the sound will instantly just go away since the pressure is released. It might be one of the other valves too since there is more than one so you can also remove the small cover on the PCV to expose the breather pipe, with the car started hold a lighter close to the pipe and if it sucks the flame in you have a leak.
The PCV repair kits are cheap and easy to install if you follow some online guides, took me 15 minutes (both times I tried it) but it's a waste of money since it never fixed it for more than a week in my case. You need to get the entire valve cover done.
Since you have MHD and some other mods this is something you need to get used to, we squeeze more power out of the cars so things take more of a beating.
