N55 135i URGENT HELP NEEDED

Hi All. I have a friend who has a 135i n55 motor and is getting a 2E0F code- valvetronic system. Deactivated, adjustment fault too frequent. The car still has throttle however engine light is on and still rough idling. I did read that a dme firmware update and reset of adaptations could help sort out the issue. Is anyone able to assist with this please? Apparently if the valvetronic motor is dead then the car wouldn't have throttle which is not the case here and would like to try a dme firmware update and adaptation reset first. Appreciate the help in advance.

The Valvetronic motor can still be broken and you’ll still have throttle movement until the point the throttle jams fully open or shut.

I had the same issue and had to replace the eccentric shaft, Valvetronic motor and oil nozzle. Alternatively try doing a re-learn in the Valvetronic system through the DME and maybe it will work again.
