Hi All,

I am looking for some help regarding the n54 rear turbo failing,
I have had the same issue for a while now and would like to know if anyone has any knowledge in this area. this is the third time the rear turbo has failed and the peak boost is set at 18.5 psi via JB4 map7 and 109 is being used. i doubt its the map if its only the rear turbo that keeps failing, can anyone assist with this issue?

Are you using stock inlets or after market?
My rear turbo failed when BMW fitted it because the stock inlets were used and the clowns forgot to put the rubber grommet on for the inlet to fit snug onto the turbo so it naturally popped off and the turbo sucked some stuff up from the road and bam bye bye turbo.

No idea if this is your issue but its worth a look.

Aftermarket Rennzport inlets.

I've asked Ameen to ensure that it's seated correctly when fitting the recon turbos as well as provide pics.

An inlet can still pop off so it's best to just check it out and make sure its on there nice and snug as the turbos have such a small lip on them. A few guys actually spray the inside of the inlet where it pops onto the turbo with some hair spray and then clamp it on to make sure it stays put.

I sprayed some hair spray inside the inlet part that fits over the turbo and fitted it and then clamped it, its held up since 2019 like a beast!
